This full-day excursion takes you from Marrakech across the High Atlas to the gate of the desert, weaving in some of the region’s most striking settings: Ait Berka village, the Tizi n’Tichka Pass at 2,260 m, the Berber villages of the High Atlas, the kasbah of Aït Benhaddou, the Atlas Film Studios, and the Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate. You explore the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass at an altitude of 2,260 m, enjoy the breathtaking landscapes of the High Atlas Mountains, visit the Kasbah that is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site, enjoy a visit to the Atlas Studios, and pass through Berber villages in the High Atlas mountains, before returning to Marrakech.

The tour starts from Marrakech. The driver/guide will pick you up from your accommodation in the morning at 8:00 am. Then drive to Ouarzazate, also known as the gate of the desert. Firstly, we will stop in Ait Berka village, at the beginning of the High Atlas mountain range. Thereafter, we continue towards the summit of Tizi N-Tichka at 2,260 m above sea level. Enjoy the beautiful landscapes and impressive panoramic views of the High Atlas Mountains, the highest mountain range in Morocco.
After that, we drive to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, the ancient kasbah that is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The kasbah has been used for the shooting of several famous films like Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra, Lawrence of Arabia, and Gladiator, as well as TV series such as Game of Thrones. Lunch in the Kasbah. Then we continue towards the city of Ouarzazate, where we stop to visit the cinema studios and the Taourirt Kasbah. Finally, we return to Marrakech in the afternoon, and the driver will drop you off at your accommodation.

The trip is a completely private experience. You will travel exclusively with the members of your own group, without joining other tourists. This gives you greater flexibility with the schedule, stops, pace, and overall experience.
How long does the drive take?
The full day involves around 8 hours of driving in total, crossing the High Atlas via the Tizi N-Tichka Pass, with panoramic photo stops along the way and free time at Ait Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate.
What is the best time to do this trip?
This trip runs year-round. Spring and autumn are especially pleasant. In winter, the Tizi N-Tichka Pass can occasionally see snow, but the route remains scenic and comfortable in our heated vehicles.

Yes. We can accommodate a wide range of dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other specific requests. Please let us know when booking so we can recommend suitable restaurants at the Kasbah.

Yes. The trip is suitable for travelers of different ages, with a comfortable vehicle and regular stops. Exploring the Kasbah on foot involves some uneven ground.
Where does the trip start and finish?
Pick-up and drop-off are available directly from your accommodation or any location in Marrakech. If preferred, the trip can also start or finish in another city upon request.
Expenses and additional costs
Currency exchange: Euros and US Dollars can be exchanged for Moroccan Dirhams (MAD) at banks, airports, and exchange offices. ATMs are also widely available throughout Morocco.
Cost of meals: Lunch is not included and generally costs around 5–20 EUR per person, depending on the restaurant. The Atlas Studios entrance fee is about 8€ per person.
Bargaining: Negotiating prices at local stalls is a normal part of shopping culture in Morocco.

A small deposit is required to confirm your reservation. Payment can be made through PayPal, Wise, or bank transfer.
The remaining balance can be paid in cash in EUR, USD, or MAD directly to the driver upon arrival.
